Indiscriminate felling of Trees in Coimbatore

Image
Roadside trees are at the receiving end. They are being cut in the name of development - road widening, cable laying, etc. Nowadays it is a common sight to see trees being cut in Coimbatore City. Public awareness level is very low. We need to put pressure upon the Government to stop this trend. Thankfully, environmental NGOs like Matram, Oli, ECG, etc have succeeded in halting the cutting of trees in Ramnagar. We need to join hands and create a stronger group against unauthorised and unwanted cutting of trees. The NGOs have planned to meet and disuss the issue and take it to the higher authorities in the government.
